BOARD OF TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ON CONSTRUCTION (ITBAK) ITBAK is established in order to issue technical approvals for increasing the confidence for new products and solutions of all parties in the building production process, to issue product safety certificates in conformity with technical approvals, to conduct R&D studies in construction works and to constitute the infrastructure in building sector. ITBAK is organized to evaluate the applications in scope of its services listed as follows: - Conducting the tests and the scientific research for the assessment of systems constituting parts of buildings, architectural details, building components consisting of more than one construction product and innovative products not subject to a standard;
- Development of building legislations and classification of buildings, determination of criteria for buildings to be regarded as equivalent to the provisions of the current legislation, determination of measuring methods according to these criteria, consultancy for determination of necessary threshold values and classes in conformity with the intended use of the products;
- Issuing technical approvals to increase the confidence for new products and solutions of all parties in the building production process and issuing product safety certificates in conformity with technical approvals;
- Inspection of the construction process for assembling the products in construction site;
- Development and application of new construction processes;
